Student Council

Advisor: Mrs. Wing

The purpose of Student Council is to legislate positive change and to promote school spirit.

As the Student Council Constitution states: "The purpose of this body is to promote communication between students, faculty, and administration. This board is required to protect, uphold, and expand the rights and privileges of all students who attend Gateway Regional High School. This body is encouraged to promote general school pride and spirit. Finally, this body is charged with the responsibility of informing the administration, faculty, and school committee of any concerns or problems students may have."  Article II, Section 1

The Council is comprised of four students from grades nine through twelve who are elected each year by their classmates, and a student council president who is elected by students in grades ten through twelve. This very active organization sponsors a number of activities during the school year including spirit days, the annual Reindeer Games, and the winter semi-formal. In an effort to support our community, the Student Council also sponsors a food drive. In addition to serving on the Council, members also volunteer their time at the student store. The profits from sales at the store have been used to purchase agendas for all students in grades nine through twelve and to subsidize a number of other school related activities.
